Custom Gasket Mfg. specializes in the manufacturing of precision die cut and molded butyl rubber gaskets and seals for applications and industries worldwide. Butyl rubber is a copolymer of isobutylene and isoprene. It has exceptionally low gas and moisture permeability and outstanding resistance to heat aging, weather, ozone, chemical attack, flexing, abrasion and tearing. It is used in many applications requiring airtight rubber. Butyl also has excellent resistance to acids and alkalis. Butyl is not recommended for use when in contact with petroleum oils or fluids. Butyl functions well in temperatures ranging from -60°F to +250°F.

Die Cut Butyl Rubber Gaskets
Custom Gasket Mfg. provides die cut butyl gaskets in a wide variety of grades, thicknesses and hardness. The standard thickness of butyl rubber ranges from 1/32″ to 1/4″ thick. Die cut butyl gaskets are black in color and their hardness (durometer) spans from 40 to 70 durometer, Shore A. Butyl rubbers specifications are ASTM D 2000 – M1AA 407, 507, 607, 707. Butyl gaskets are available with or without pressure sensitive adhesive (PSA) backing.
Molded Rubber Butyl Gaskets
Custom Gasket Mfg. specializes in the manufacturing of molded butyl gaskets and seals. Our custom butyl rubber molding capabilities include Compression Molding, Transfer Molding, and Rubber Injection Molding. Butyl (IIR) compounds are available from 40 to 90 durometer, Shore A. Butyl rubber molded products are generally black in color however custom color compounding is available upon request. Butyl rubber molding tolerances are complaint with rubber molding industry standard RMA A2 Precision tolerances.
